High-priced video game figures continue to pop up from time to time. Recently it was Fallout 4's power armor, and now it's Mortal Kombat's Shao Kahn who gets the treatment.

Costing $500, the new 1:4 scale statue comes from Pop Culture Shock Toys (via Game Informer). It stands 22 inches tall and weighs approximately 20 pounds. He carries a bloody hammer and features LED eyes.
You can also remove his mask, despite the fact that he's almost always seen wearing it. There's no word on whether he's able to laugh at and mock you for your inability to beat him, but this seems unlikely given that he's an inanimate piece of polystone.
Preorders for the statue begin later today, February 1, at 3 PM PST, with an expected ship date of November 15. Provided you're willing to pay in full now, you can save 15 percent, bringing its price down to $425. Alternatively, you can save 5 percent (final price: $475) by signing up for a payment plan that requires a $110 deposit, or you can put $105 now and pay the rest of the full price when it ships.
Pricey as this may seem, it's still a fair bit cheaper than last year's $700 Sub-Zero statue.
Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm recently confirmed another batch of DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat X on consoles, as well as an XL version that offers access to all content.
