Radical Entertainment's open-world action adventure Prototype just so happened to arrive during one of the lowest points in last year's economic slump, hitting the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in June 2009. Still, the ultraviolent action game rode solid review scores to an altogether respectable NPD chart-topping performance, debuting to some 598,200 units across the console versions.

　　A year on, and Prototype will be given a fresh pair of legs on the Xbox 360, thanks to fellow Activision-owned studio Raven Software. The publisher said today that those who purchase Singularity for Microsoft's console will receive a mail-in offer to get a free copy of Prototype. The offer will apparently be available only for a limited time, though no specific window was mentioned.

　　Free stuff has a way of attracting the worst kind… In Singularity, gamers play as Nate, an air force pilot who, in the early parts of the game, is scrambled to investigate some strange happenings on an island off the coast of Russia. After Nate's plane crashes, he discovers a mysterious time-manipulation device and must use it to unlock the mysteries of the island while staying alive in the process. Oddly enough, the device also effects time-traveling complications where the game bounces between 2010 and 1950.
