Though real-time strategy games still remain largely confined to the PC, the Xbox 360's RTS roster is growing. In addition to the already released Battle for Middle-earth II and Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, nearly a half-dozen RTS games are coming to the console, including Halo Wars, Universe at War: Earth Assault, and Tom Clancy's EndWar.
Today, Sierra confirmed to GameSpot that it is bringing World in Conflict to Microsoft's console. As of press time, the division of Vivendi Games had not revealed a release date for the 360 edition of the RTS, the PC version of which will ship in September.
World in Conflict is set in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union and United States fight World War III during the early 21st century. It is the latest game from Massive Entertainment, developer of the acclaimed Ground Control series. Check out GameSpot's previous coverage of the PC edition for gameplay details.
