Zynga cofounder leaves
Zynga cofounder leaves-December 2024
Dec 16, 2024 11:28 PM

Zynga cofounder Justin Waldron has left the FarmVille company, he announced on Twitter and Facebook last night (via Polygon).

"I've decided it's time to leave Zynga and venture off on my own again," Waldron said on Facebook. "It's been 6 and a half years since we pushed the button to launch our first game, and each moment since has been magic."

According to his Quora page, Waldron was originally recruited by other founders Mark Pincus and Eric Schiermeyer while in college and helped launch the game that would later become Zynga Poker. Waldron later dropped out of the University of Connecticut to work full time at Zynga.

"It's incredibly humbling to have worked with such a talented team. I am grateful to have had the chance to help build a company that touched so many people," Waldron said. "Thank you to everyone who has been a part of it--both in the trenches and for playing the games."

It is not clear what Waldron plans to do next.
