The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been been out for mere hours, but at least one speedrunner has already finished it. YouTuber gymnast86 beat the massive open-world game in just 94 minutes--albeit through bypassing most of the game and heading almost straight towards the final battle.

Now Playing: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Video Review
We don't recommend actually watching the speedrun video if you care about spoilers, because we confirmed that it does show the entire final confrontation and ending. Tears of the Kingdom is very open like its predecessor Breath of the Wild, allowing you to go almost anywhere after completing a tutorial area. That includes the ability to head straight towards the ending if you'd wish. As you might imagine, doing that presents a much tougher challenge, and you'd miss out on a lot of the story.
In a separate video, gymnast86 notes that Tears of the Kingdom does seem to have fixed many of the common glitches that Breath of the Wild speedrunners relied on. While that doesn't mean that TotK speedrunners won't eventually find their own exploits, it does mean that this fresh run didn't rely on those. Almost half of the total runtime was spent in the starting tutorial area, but gymnast86 says future runs may be able to cut down that time.
For non-speedrunners who want to see the story through properly, a typical playthrough of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will probably take more than 65 hours.
