Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Receives a New Patch That Addresses a Stamp Flickering Issue-November 2024
Nov 12, 2024 3:19 PM

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has received a new update, addressing an issue with stamps causing screen flickering.

Patch 1.2.1 is a minor one, but does include some fixes for various annoying issues that have been encountered. As said, one of the issues that has been fixed is an issue that occasionally caused the screen to flicker excessively when a large amount of stamps have been placed on the world map. Another issue that has been addressed is one that prevented players from obtaining the contents of treasure chests attached to Flux Constructs when the treasure chests vanished as a result of the Flux Construct’s attacks. Also, patch 1.2.1 fixes a bug that prevents an event from being triggered when talking to Koltin after collecting all of the Bubbul gems.

In addition, this patch fixes several other unspecified issues that should improve the overall gameplay experience for players. Unfortunately, no further details about these "other issues" have been shared by Nintendo. You can read the full patch notes for Tears of the Kingdom patch 1.2.1 here.

As always, this update should download automatically to your console if this feature has been enabled. The patch can also be downloaded manually via the game update setting.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available worldwide now for the Nintendo Switch.  As reported earlier this month, the Breath of the Wild sequel managed to sell over 18.5 million copies in only 1.5 months. Here's what we wrote about the game in our launch review back in July of this year.

"But there’s another way Nintendo has expanded Hyrule, which they’ve kept oddly quiet about in their marketing. In addition to the sky islands, there is now an entire underground world beneath Hyrule that seems to span the entire map or close to it. These murky Depths are accessed through gloom-filled chasms dotted around the map and are bathed in darkness, with Link having to make his way with a Zonai flashlight or “brightbloom seeds” which can be attached to arrows and act as makeshift area lights wherever they land. The only way to permanently shoo away the dark is to find a Lightroot which will illuminate an area and provide a fast-travel point."
