You Can Stream The Batman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, And More Without Spending Any Money-November 2024
Nov 6, 2024 3:57 AM

Warner Bros. Discovery and Fox have cut a deal to bring a range of DC movies and other video content to the ad-supported video streaming site Tubi. Movies like The Batman, Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Green Lanter, and Wonder Woman 1984 will come to Tubi beginning in 2024, according to Variety.

The partnership actually begins today, however, as movies like Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman Forever are now available to stream on Tubi, alongside Superman: The Movie and Superman II. Tubi is owned by Fox.

A bunch of DC animated movies are headed to Tubi later this month, including The Death of Superman, Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox, and Son of Batman, as well as the Keanu Reeves movie Constantine.

Beyond DC content, Tubi is getting streaming rights to Blade: The Series, Judge Mathis, and People's Court. Tubi will also have the movies Annabelle, Doctor Sleep, and Friday beginning in 2024.

Tubi is an ad-supported streaming site that allows users to watch content without any kind of subscription. The catch is that it's more akin to traditional TV and viewers must watch ads. WB Discovery licensing this content to Tubi is just the latest effort from the company to sell rights to its content to other companies. Before this, WBD struck a deal with Netflix to launch titles like Dune and Band of Brothers on the streamer.

WBD also removed titles like Westworld from Max and brought it to free ad-supported TV (FAST) channels as a means to make money. HBO boss Casey Bloys said people forget that the "vast majority" of people do not pay for any streaming service in the US and globally, and releasing content on FAST channels is a way to reach those people (and make money).

"These are expensive shows to make. The idea that they're going to sit in a library forever and ever for $15 a month, that's never how TV has operated," Bloys said.

In other news, the DC series Watchmen was recently removed from Max, but this appears to have been a mistake and all nine episodes are once again available to stream.
