Xbox’s Loftis:” I Do Not See How Offering Games On More Platforms Is A Bad Thing”; More Xbox One Exclusives To Be Announced-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 2:23 AM

In the current console generation, there are fewer Xbox exclusive games than in the past, with Microsoft trying to bridge the gap between PC and consoles gamers with the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which makes games available at the same time on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. While some gamers see this in a bad light, Xbox's Shannon Loftis doesn't see it as a bad thing.

Speaking with GameSpot, the Xbox executive noted how making games available on more platform and more games is not necessarily a bad thing, especially for multiplayer games. Loftis used Killer Instinct as an example of how making the game available on multiple platforms actually helped the game, as it expanded the multiplayer pool.

Regarding [Xbox Play Anywhere] and games being available on PC, I may be out in left field but I do not see how offering games on more platforms to more gamers is a bad thing necessarily, particularly in a multiplayer scenario

Still, Loftis understands that gamers would love to have more Xbox One exclusive titles in the future. And it looks like more games are in the works, and they will be announced in the future.

I think our offering is good and it is solid. I definitely hear that gamers want more. Would we love to have two-dozen more super-strong, absolutely exclusives? You bet.

We do have more coming; more that are in the works that we're not talking about now. But I feel good about what we have to offer for the launch [of Xbox One X].

Among the games that are Xbox One console exclusive releases is Cuphead. The game developed by Studio MDHR is one of the best games released this year, thanks to its unique aesthetics and challenging gameplay experience.

The animation alone is nearly worth the price of admission, but if you want imaginative bosses to fight as well, you're in luck with Cuphead. Just make sure you're prepared to die - a lot.
