Apparently a new update for the Xbox One controller has been released, alongside a firmware update for the New Xbox Experience (NXOE). The controller update adds custom button mapping to the controller for those who are using the NXOE.
The controller update seems to be a part of the NXOE update (th2_xbox_rel_1510.151023-1900) that began to roll out yesterday. The update contains many key fixes and stability improvements. The update for the controller (2.3.2382.0) isn’t included in the NXOE update, but comes as a separate download.
According to several Reddit users, the controller update adds a new menu the controller settings, alongside custom button mapping, stick inversion, trigger swapping, and more.
Microsoft’s ‘New Xbox Experience’ will release in November for the public. Since the new button mapping function is only available for those using this new interface, the feature might well be introduced with the Xbox One November update. It certainly would be the ideal opportunity to launch the feature.
The ‘New Xbox Experience’ will be powered by Windows 10, elevating the gaming experience on Xbox One. Integrating the speed of Windows 10, the New Xbox One Experience will get you to popular gaming features up to 50 percent faster”, said Ybarra on the Xbox Wire Website.
Recent speed comparisons between the current Xbox UI and the upcoming New Xbox Experience, show a speed increase of more than 50% on most aspects tested.
