Xbox Live plugs into YouTube, more-October 2024
Oct 25, 2024 10:27 AM

While Microsoft has touted the Xbox 360's Internet-based media options as a cut above its competitors' offerings, the console is just now getting a feature the PlayStation 3 and Wii have had for years: YouTube support.

The Xbox Live experience continues to change day by day. Microsoft today announced that another round of Kinect-enabled media-centric apps are now available via Xbox Live. US offerings include iHeartRadio, MSNBC.com, TMZ, and Verizon FiOS. Rogers On Demand hits Canada, and the UK gets blinkbox, MSN Video and MUZU.tv. YouTube is also now available in 24 countries worldwide.

Other apps announced as coming in December include UFC, VEVO, Vudu, and Sony Picture's Crackle. CinemaNow, HBO GO, MLB.TV, and Xfinity on Demand are slated for launch in early 2012.
