WoW Classic Name Reservation Unlocks Next Week on August 12; Up to 3 Characters Can Be Created-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 11:41 AM

Blizzard has announced that WoW Classic name reservation will open up next week on August 12 at 22:00 GMT / August 13 at 00:00 CEST.

Ahead of Classic’s release at the end of this month, players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time will be able to create up to three characters per account and have the names reserved. Once released, players will be able to create a maximum of 10 characters per Classic realm and a maximum of 50 characters across all realms in a region. As expected, there can only be one faction per realm on PvP realms.

We already reported on this earlier, but there won’t be an overlap between World of Warcraft Classic and Battle for Azeroth accounts, so players will be able to create 50 characters in Classic and 50 characters in World of Warcraft’s latest expansion.

“We will release details regarding realm names and realm types later this week so you can coordinate with your friends on where to begin your adventure”, Blizzard writes. “If there are high numbers of players congregating on individual realms during the name reservation/character creation process, we will post warnings about the potential for long queues on those realms, giving you time to choose alternate realms.”

WoW Classic, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft vanilla server option, will release globally on August 26 at 22:00 GMT / August 27 at 00:00 CEST.
