The US District Court has granted Nyko's motion for a preliminary injunction that will stop four defendants - Electro Source (Pelican), Xtreme International, The Ultimate Game Club (Innovation), and Sun Team Technology (Yobo) - from what Nyko believes is an infringement on the company's intellectual property rights on its Worm Light game accessory for Nintendo's Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color. The Worm Light is a light unit that attaches to the Game Boy Color and Pocket through the external port. Using a white LED light source, the Worm Light never requires replacement, since it has no lightbulb.

　　None of the four defendants opposed Nyko's right to the preliminary injunction. Only Pelican appeared in court to challenge the scope of the injunction.

　　According to the District Court ruling, the product development of the group defendants is not acceptable since the products are similar enough to confuse consumers. Several of the defendants named their product the Worm Light and created similar shapes and packaging. The Court's order will stop the defendants from manufacturing, distributing, or selling Worm Light lookalikes.

　　The Court granted Nyko this motion on April 10, following its suit stating that the defendants were involved in "misappropriation of intellectual property and unfair competition" tied to its game accessory design Worm Light.
