Warner Bros. has released the first poster for The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan's World War II movie Dunkirk and announced when you'll be able to see an extended preview for it.

The poster is grand. It shows a single soldier staring out into the sea with the horrors of war before him. Take a look at it below via movie site Collider.

The film is set in 1940 and focuses on the plan to rescue 300,000 Allied troops who were trapped on the Dunkirk beaches in France by the German army. The first teaser trailer was released earlier this year, but it won't be long until we get another, better look at the film.

A seven-minute prologue for the movie will run before Star Wars: Rogue One on IMAX screens this weekend when that movie opens. Additionally, Collider reports that a regular trailer is expected to premiere sometime this week for everyone to see.

Dunkirk, which was written and directed by Nolan, stars Tom Hardy (The Revenant), Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies), Kenneth Branagh (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), and Harry Styles of the boy band One Direction. It opens on July 21, 2017.
