The World Opponent Network says today that it will become the first online gaming service to officially host ThrustMaster's Talk n' Play Internet multiperson voice-conferencing system.
Talk n' Play allows up to four players to talk over the Net whilst playing games. WON will offer a free download of the first two Talk n' Play "modules" - those include the Talk n' Play instant-messaging client software and the Community Directory. Players will have to purchase the third module, the one that actually lets users talk and play at the same time. That module will be available for US$29.95 from the WON site and will be packaged with an Internet voice headset and microphone.
WON.net will support the Talk n' Play technology with its lineup of Hoyle card and board games, PGA Championship Golf, and its new strategy game SpiritWars.
WON currently boasts more than 800,000 subscribers.
