Where Is Xur Today? (September 9-13) - Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 7:24 AM

This week sees the first Iron Banner of Season of Plunder in Destiny 2, and you're going to want a competitive edge. That's where Xur comes in. The Agent of the Nine has returned with a new batch of weapons and armor for your perusal, including a Titan Exotic that's extremely useful for new melee-focused Arc builds. Here's where you can find Xur this weekend and all the Exotics (and other stuff) he's selling.

This week you can find Xur in the Tower, in the Hangar area. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Colony. Hunters can pick up the Gwisin Vest chest armor; Titans can grab the An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where Is Xur September 9th, 2022

Xur Location

Xur can be found at the north end of the Hangar in the Tower.Spawn in at the Tower's Courtyard transmat zone, then head left to find Xur this week. Continue down the stairs until you reach the Hangar, then hang another left and walk to the north end of the area. Xur is up the short flight of stairs onto the catwalk right at the edge of the building.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Friday (until Daylight Saving brings that forward by an hour in November). Bungie doesn't mark Xur's location on the in-game map, so it can be easy to miss him if you're not aware he exists. But he only comes to specific locations, of which now there are only three: the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

The Colony remains one of Destiny 2's most fun Exotics, especially in the Crucible. It fires tracking grenades that chase down your opponents, which are also tiny robotic spiders, adding a creep factor to your kills. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

Xur's Hawkmoon this week carries Eye of the Storm, a decent dueling perk for PvP. This is an okay all-around Hawkmoon if you need one, but not much of a standout. As for Dead Man's Tale, Xur's copy has Outlaw this week, which can greatly increase your reload speed if you're landing headshots--but again, not the best of available options. In both cases, you're safe to skip.

Legendary weapons in Xur's inventory this week include a fun Chrysura Melo auto rifle from the Season of the Lost, sporting Fourth Time's the Charm and Dragonfly with a Range Masterwork, making it a fun option for PvE fighting. If you don't already have a breech-loading grenade launcher with Blinding Grenades, you can pick up Xur's Empty Vessel, which also has Underdog and Multikill Clip with a Reload Speed Masterwork. Blinding Grenades are great, especially in high-level PvE, but this is a weak roll otherwise, so skip it unless you really need it. First In, Last Out is a reliable shotgun for boss damage in particular, and Auto-Loading Holster, Eye of the Storm, and a Stability Masterwork make this one a decent option for your DPS needs (although, again, no god roll). And finally, the Temptation's Hook sword from the Season of Arrivals is solid, with Relentless Strikes, Surrounded, and an Impact Masterwork; it's one of few Caster frame swords and tough to come by, so this is a good pickup if you want to add this sword to your collection.

As for armor, you can snag the Righteous set from the Season of Dawn this week, giving you a bit of a Saint-14 look. This is another set that hasn't been in the game for a while, providing a good opportunity to fill out your closet for transmogrification. We've included the pieces worthy of your consideration below.

The Colony (Grenade Launcher)

Grenades that chase your enemies are always fun, making The Colony a favorite. The Colony has been a PvP mainstay since its release with the Curse of Osiris, and it's easy to see why. It's the only grenade launcher with a "fire and forget" mentality. The rounds it fires are actually tiny spider robots that run along the ground, walls, and ceilings to chase down opponents, making them very hard to avoid. Most of the time, if you can manage to find Heavy ammo, you're very likely to earn a kill with The Colony, making a great addition to any arsenal.

Gwisin Vest (Hunter)

Get the most out of your Spectral Blades Super with Gwisin Vest.Hunters' Spectral Blades Super is all about the assassin fantasy, using invisibility to sneak up on enemies before tearing them apart with knives. Gwisin Vest amplifies the Super to make it much more effective, especially in the Crucible. Every time you get a kill with your Spectral Blades and then return to stealth, you gain back Super energy, allowing the Super to last longer than it normally would--which makes it great for cleaning out enemy teams.

An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan)

An Insurmountable Skullfort pairs extremely well with Titans' new amped-up Arc 3.0 melees.Punching stuff is always fun for Titans, but with the newly released Arc 3.0 revamp, you have even more ways of smashing opponents with your fists. An Insurmountable Skullfort pairs well with melee-driven Arc builds, triggering health regeneration and restoring some melee energy on Arc melee ability kills. Put that together with Thunderclap and you'll get rewards for Falcon-punching your Crucible opponents to death.

Skull Of Dire Ahamkara (Warlock)

Warlocks can use Skull of Dire Ahamkara to survive throwing their Nova Bombs, and to throw them more often. The trouble with the Warlock Nova Bomb Super is that it can take a while to throw it--you get massive destructive power, but it leaves you vulnerable for a few seconds as you ready that power. Skull of Dire Ahamkara is great for Nova Bomb fans: It provides you with additional damage resistance while you're using the Super, so you're less likely to get shot out of the air, and it gives you Super energy back for every Nova Bomb kill, up to 50% of the total. That means you can throw more Nova Bombs more often, which is very useful for Super-centric builds.
