　　There's lots to do in Destiny 2 this week. In addition to all the Bungie 30th Anniversary DLC content like the Grasp of Avarice dungeon and Dares of Eternity, we now have the annual holiday celebration that is the Dawning, which is complete with new recipes and two new quests. So once again, it's a great time to visit Xur to expand your collection of Exotics and grab new Legendary weapons and armor.

　　Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where Is Xur and What is He Selling - December 17, 2021

　　Head to The EDZ, to the Winding Cove area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering the Graviton Lance pulse rifle. Hunters can pick up the Shards of Galanor gauntlets; for Titans, there's the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Lunafaction Boots leg armor.

　　Xur's stat rolls on Lunafaction Boots and Shards of Galanor are pretty impressive--you should snag these for your collections.

　　In addition to his Exotics, Xur also offers a smattering of Legendary weapons each week. His haul for the first week of the Dawning, however, is a little lackluster. You might find his Escape Velocity submachine gun to be interesting, which packs Threat Detector and Quickdraw with a Range Masterwork. That'll be nice in PvE situations and could be a handy alternate weapon in PvP if you should really need one, but it's mostly just "fine." The same is true of Xur's Toil and Trouble shotgun with Full Auto Trigger System and Moving Target with a Range Masterwork. If you're aiming down the sights with this shotgun, you should be able to thrash enemies, but it's not a god roll you want to bring to the Crucible. Finally, there's Fallen Guillotine, which you should grab if you don't have one. Xur's is, again, decent, thanks to Energy Transfer and En Garde with an Impact Masterwork that allows you to gain class ability energy and increase your damage.

　　The Legendary armor Xur offers is a lot more useful. He's got the Wild Hunt set from the Season of the Hunt, and brings some strong stat rolls. Hunters benefit the most with a high-stat helmet and set of gauntlets, at 65 and 66, respectively. Warlocks can find several pieces right around 61 or 62 to help shore up gaps in your loadouts, and Titans can get a decent chest plate and leg armor to do the same.

　　

Xur Location

Look for Xur at the top of the cliff on the north end of Winding Cove this week.Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone in the EDZ to get to Xur this week. When you arrive, hop on your sparrow and head north up the collapsed overpass. Xur is on top of the cliff ahead, and you can either climb up or pass through a cave in the left wall that'll lead you to his spot. He's standing next to a crashed Fallen skiff.

　　Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

　　

Xur Exotic Items

Graviton Lance is a solid old standby of an Exotic pulse rifle. The Void gun rips through enemies in PvE, with those killed by critical hits exploding and sending destructive Void bolts out toward their friends. It's not a bad option in PvP as well, with high damage and good range. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Graviton Lance (Pulse Rifle)

Graviton Lance is a powerful pulse rifle if you need a reliable weapon in PvE or PvP. It also makes enemies explode, which is always helpful.Graviton Lance is a strong, if old, Exotic pulse rifle that can be devastating in a crowd and reliable in the Crucible. The pulse rifle fires a three-round burst, with the second round of that burst doing extra damage, especially for critical hits. The real benefit of the gun, though, is the fact that killing enemies with critical hits causes them to explode, showering balls of Void energy around them, which then seek out additional enemies. Graviton Lance has strong range and excellent stability, making it great for hitting shots in the Crucible as well. It's not a favorite in PvP, but it's a reliable gun if you need one.

　　

Shards of Galanor (Hunter)

Shards of Galanor give you Super energy back for your Blade Barrage kills--so you can get more Blade Barrage kills.Like many other Exotics, Shards of Galanor is one of those that gives you Super energy back for using your Super, which can be very helpful in the right situation. With Shards, it's your Blade Barrage Super, and energy is restored for every hit and kill you make with your storm of knives. Bungie has capped the Super energy return of these Exotics at 50%, so the days of instantly refilling your Blade Barrage with Shards are over--but this is still a useful Exotic, especially when you're faced with swarms of enemies. Xur's stat roll is also strong on this Exotic, so this is a good version to grab for your Vault.

Lion Rampant (Titan)

Wreck more people in the air with Lion Rampant, which boosts your hipfire accuracy while you're airborne.It's genuinely surprising how many players you can catch completely off-guard if you up your mid-air game in the Crucible. Lion Rampant gives you a boost in that regard, making Titans more maneuverable in the air and boosting their guns' hipfire accuracy. If you're the kind of player who likes to come at your opponents from angles they don't expect, Lion Rampant can be extremely helpful in getting you off the ground.

Lunafaction Boots (Warlock)

Xur's roll on these Lunafaction Boots makes them a must-get. Go grab them!Lunafaction Boots are another Warlock staple for PvE activities. The boots make your rifts even more useful, boosting the reload speed of anyone standing in them, and giving a range boost to weapons in Empowering rifts. The real benefit is in boss damage. Lunafaction Boots are a great pairing with Well of Radiance, allowing you to quickly reload your guns so you can pour on damage at high speed. The boots aren't the absolute PvE necessity they once were thanks to a nerf from Bungie, but they can still be very useful in dungeons and raids. Xur's Lunafaction Boots are must-haves, though, thanks to their stat roll of 68, which is very high for a Xur Exotic and exceedingly rare besides.
