THE BIG STUFF:

Destiny: The Taken King Breaks PlayStation Download Records: The DLC's $40 price tag apparently didn't turn too many people away, as the game got off to a blazing hot start. What's more, the game set a new record for both total number of players and peak online simultaneous users, outpacing the original Destiny day-one launch on September 9, 2014.

This Vine is the best Vine. The very best Vine.

Movie news! Director Brad Bird has talked more about The Incredibles 2, the sequel to (probably) my favorite Pixar movie. He also confirms the movie will launch sooner than expected. Nice.

Deus Ex and Epic Mickey's Warren Spector has changed his mind about virtual reality. He wasn't originally too thrilled by the technology, but that's no longer the case. He tells Kotaku in a new interview, "VR will play a large role in some areas of life. I have no doubt about that."

With 180 million downloads, Real Racing is one of the biggest racing games in the mobile space. So it's not too surprising to learn, then, that the developer behind the game isn't too worried about Forza or Grand Turismo. Get the full story here.

Oh this is great. Here's a funny instructional video for Rock Band 4. October 6 can't come soon enough.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III has receive an R18+ rating in Australia, the highest possible rating in the country. It's also the first game in the series to receive that rating, as all past entries receive MA-15+ ratings. How this might affect sales remains to be seen.

  Have an excellent weekend!
