2K Games today released the launch trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which comes to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC tomorrow, October 14. The trailer sets up the game's story, setting, and characters, but that's not all.

The video even pokes fun at Destiny, promising that it features "zero moon wizards," before showing Claptrap wearing a Gandalf-esque hat and quipping, "Okay, maybe one moon wizard."

The "moon wizard" line is in reference to a Peter Dinklage/Ghost quote from Destiny's beta--"That wizard came from the moon"--that was criticized for sounding silly. Developer Bungie took this in stride, even releasing special t-shirts that featured the quote.

The Pre-Sequel launch trailer uses the 1986 song, "The Final Countdown," and not Between the Buried and Me's "Prequel to the Sequel," which I was hoping it would.

2K Games also reminded gamers today that it's not too late to preorder the title to receive the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit bonus content. This perk will give "unique in-game loot to players who succeed against the moon’s fiercest enemies."

The Pre-Sequel was developed by 2K Australia with help from Borderlands creator Gearbox Software. Though the game's world is smaller than 2012's Borderlands 2, it is a "full-blown" AAA title, according to parent publisher Take-Two Interactive.
