As with other Overwatch characters who have come to Heroes of the Storm, D.Va looks to be a faithful recreation--for the most part. Just like in Overwatch, she moves around in a mech that can be destroyed, which then forces her into Pilot mode. Destroying her mech or slaying D.Va herself (when she's on foot) counts for only 50% of the usual XP you'd get for a kill on most other characters.

Now Playing: GS News Update: How Overwatch's D.Va Works In Heroes Of The Storm

Further distinguishing her from the majority of HotS characters, she can move while firing in Mech mode, though she moves 15% slower while doing so. Her Mech attacks also hit everyone in front of her. While in Pilot mode, she can use a mount to get around more quickly, and basic attacks reduce the wait to call in a replacement mech. Furthermore, Pilot mode restricts her attacks to only a single enemy at a time, and she has to stop to fire.

In terms of abilities, Boosters increases her movement speed for two seconds and deals damage to anyone she runs into. Defense Matrix summons a field in a specified direction for three seconds that reduces the damage dealt by anyone inside it by 75%. It also prevents her from turning for the duration, although she can otherwise move normally.

Her third standard ability is similar to her Ultimate in Overwatch. Self-Destruct causes D.Va to abandon her mech and sets it to explode after a four-second delay. It deals "medium to massive damage in a large area, depending on distance from the center of the blast," according to Blizzard, though it only does half damage to structures. Self-Destruct has no cooldown but can only be activated after building up a sufficient charge, which is generated by basic attacks and taking damage.

That leaves both of her Heroic abilities to be new inventions of Heroes of the Storm. One choice is Bunny Hop, which can only be used in Mech mode. This gives D.Va the Unstoppable state, and it causes damage and slows nearby enemies over the course of four seconds. Alternatively, you can choose the Pilot mode-only Big Shot, which deals damage to enemies in a line. This has a short cooldown and reduces Call Mech's cooldown by eight seconds for every enemy it hits.

You can see all of this in action in the trailer above, or try her out for yourself on Heroes of the Storm's Public Test Realm today.

Heroes of the Storm recently added Overwatch's Genji and debuted its big 2.0 update, which revamped its progression systems and much more. An Overwatch crossover event is currently going on where you can unlock content in both Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch, including a D.Va skin in the latter. You can also still receive a free 20-character bundle just for logging in.
