Finding Nemo remains one of the most popular movies that Pixar ever produced, and the long-awaited sequel is nearly with us. Finding Dory is due for release this summer, and a new trailer has been released. Check it out below:
Finding Dory focuses upon the amnesiac fish of the title, and her quest to be reunited with her family. Ellen DeGeneres returns to voice Dory, as does Albert Brooks, playing the clownfish Merlin, who accompanies Dory on her adventure. The film also stars Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Willem Dafoe, Idris Elba, and Dominic West.
In a recent interview with Yahoo movies, director Andrew Stanton explained that the decision to make a sequel was not driven by the desire to cash in on Finding Nemo's success. "Disney doesn't request those things," he said. "That was the deal when Disney bought us. The third movie we ever made [Toy Story 2] was a sequel, and we learned early on that it's not worth doing unless it's good.
"I never thought there was going to be a sequel, until one day I went, 'You know, I worry Dory could get lost again and not find the family she has.' And I wondered, 'Where did she come from?'"
Finding Dory will be released on June 17, 2016.
