Today, Warhammer Vermintide 2 received a major update. Fatshark added a new DLC: the fourth career for Sienna Fuegonasus, which allows players to specialize the character as a Necromancer.
Sienna can also now wield two additional weapons. The Ensorcelled Reaper is a threatening two-handed weapon with fantastic cleave and powerful impact. Its special attack causes Sienna to slam the weapon into the ground, releasing a blast of energy around her. This weapon is usable in all of Sienna's careers.
On the other hand, the Soulstealer Staff is exclusive to Necromancers. The primary attack fires a cursed bolt that bounces between enemies, staggering and applying a damage-over-time (DoT) effect. The secondary attack earns the staff its namesake by letting you target an enemy and rip at its soul, dealing massive damage.
The Necromancer career is available on all platforms for $3.49. The base game update (version 5.1.0) adds a lot of technical improvements on PC, starting with NVIDIA DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) and 3 (Frame Generation) support, as NVIDIA had promised earlier this week. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 and 2.2 are now supported as well. There is a downside to the addition of NVIDIA DLSS: Warhammer Vermintide 2 does not support Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 anymore. Fatshark also lowered VRAM consumption, shrunk the install size in half, and improved the loading algorithm to make load times faster on SSDs.
Furthermore, the team announced that more content is coming to Warhammer Vermintide 2 after this DLC, despite the studio's simultaneous commitment to Darktide. While there are no specifics to share at this time, players can look forward to the return of the Geheimnisnacht 'Halloween' event between October 26th and November 5th.
