B7 Productions, which is currently working on a revival of the classic UK sci-fi TV show Blake's 7, has announced that it is seeking both development and publishing partners to turn the brand into a console or PC game. B7 Productions' current plans not only include a new TV series set some 30 years after the original, but their plans also include the addition of new audio dramas and a high-end animated remake of the original series.
"We are currently looking at realistic approaches from a number of interested parties," said executive producer Andrew Mark Sewell. "We are keen to work with people who understand that we're not proposing a tongue-in-cheek tribute to an old show but a bold and exciting new interpretation of one of the most influential and popular science fiction shows ever produced in the UK."
Blake's 7 was originally created by Terry Nation, whose other credits include creating Doctor Who's Daleks and contributing to such shows as The Avengers, The Saint, and The Goon Show. The show revolved around a group of futuristic freedom fighters battling against the totalitarian Federation and was recently voted the public's favorite TV show of all time in a British Film Institute poll.
