Voting open for IGF Audience Award
Voting open for IGF Audience Award-December 2024
Dec 20, 2024 7:39 AM

Conceived as a booster for the indie gaming scene, much the same way the Sundance Film Festival has benefited independent film in recent years, the Independent Games Festival is heading into its eighth year, still organized by the CMP Game Group (producer of Game Developer and Gamasutra). But for this year's event, GameSpot is lending a hand.

While six of the seven IGF awards given out this March at a ceremony held in the midst of the 2006 Game Developers Conference will be chosen by the event's judging committee, the festival's Audience Award winner will be chosen through an online vote hosted by GameSpot. Previous IGF award winners include YoHoHo! Puzzle Pirates, Alien Hominid, and Wik and the Fable of Souls.

To help a team of indie developers have their game added to that list of past winners, head on over to GameSpot's IGF page, download free demos of all the eligible nominees, and cast your vote for the one you think most deserves the prize.
