Usually gamers have their eyes focused on monitors or TVs, but all gamers at one time have played Hasbro's Monopoly. Hasbro is making use of Net democracy by allowing gamers to vote for a new piece to be added to the board version in 1999. The last time pieces were added to the game was in 1950 (the dog, the wheelbarrow, and the horse and rider).
The new pieces Web surfers will choose from include a sack of money, a biplane, and a piggy bank. Voters will choose which piece they'd like to see in the game and will also cast a vote to decide which gaming piece takes the top position in the Token Hall of Fame.
The contest ends on September 30, 1998, so head on over to the Hasbro site and be counted. You'll help influence one of the greatest games of all time.
