The VirZoom VR bike is a controller that you can use alongside an Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or PlayStation VR headset. Our video shows that players can use the bike to control an F1 car, a horse in a Western, and the winged horse Pegasus.
The bike controller, packaged with five games, is going for $199.95 in the Early Access preorder phase, which is only available to the first 300 buyers. The price will then be bumped up to $249.95. It comes with one free month of a VirZoom Plus subscription. The subscription costs $9.99 a month and its offerings were detailed in a press release:
Online multiplayer functionalityFitness data tracking such as heart rate, calories, and distance over time.Game updates and new contentNew games on a regular basisVirZoom clarified to GameSpot that players will also need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play its multiplayer games on PlayStation VR.
The VirZoom VR Bike is scheduled for release in the first half of 2016.
The Oculus Rift is slated for an early 2016 release. The HTC Vive was originally intended to launch by the end of 2015, but it was recently delayed to April of next year. And even though the PlayStation VR headset is set to ship in the first half of 2016, we'll have to wait until the new year to learn what the PlayStation VR's "what-else" features are, including the price.
