Verizon's Free Disney Plus Offer Now Available
Verizon's Free Disney Plus Offer Now Available-October 2024
Oct 17, 2024 5:43 PM

Update: Disney Plus launch day is here, and while the app is having issues (as was perhaps to be expected), you can download the app and at least try to start streaming The Mandalorian and all the rest of its vast library. A free seven-day trial is available, but if you're looking for a longer-term subscription, Verizon's free Disney Plus offer, as described below, is now available. Provided you qualify, the sign-up process is quite easy and simple, although even Verizon's website seems to have been suffering from some issues today due to the high demand. The original story follows.

Disney Plus is just days away from launch, adding another subscription to the pile of service TV and film-hungry fans will have to pay for on top of Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and more. Verizon members are in luck, however, as they're eligible for a free 12-month subscription of Disney Plus if they have an unlimited plan.

Now Playing: Disney Pixar's Onward - Official Trailer

The promotion is for both new and existing customers, so if you currently have a Verizon family plan, you're going to get all the Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar content free of charge for your first year. (That includes Avengers: Endgame, which will actually be out on release day, a month sooner than previously expected.)

New 5G home internet and Verizon Fios home internet customers are also eligible for the Disney Plus promotion. The difference here is that existing home internet customers will not get Disney Plus, unless of course you have an unlimited family plan, too.

If you already pre-ordered your Disney Plus subscription, don't worry. Verizon has stated that paid subscriptions won't go into effect until the free 12-month subscription expires.

Disney Plus launches November 12 for $7/month or $70/year. Disney recently revealed the full slate of movies and shows that will be available on day one. There's even an absurd three-hour trailer highlighting practically everything that you can watch, including Star Wars and Marvel movies to classic TV shows to obscure movies you may never have heard of. There are a bunch of classic cartoons coming right away, too.

The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars show, leads the charge for new content on Disney Plus, but there's a ton of existing content to look forward to, including nine Star Wars movies, some of the best Pixar animated films, and a close-to-comprehensive back catalogue of Disney movies.
