Verizon Wireless announced last week the availability of mobile game reviews to subscribers of its Get It Now service. The application, WGamer.com, offers reviews that appear on Wireless Gaming Review, a Web site covering the mobile gaming beat purchased earlier this year by GameSpot.
In addition to providing our customers easy access to fun and cool Get It Now games, we also want to offer them information tools that can help them choose games best suited to their tastes, said Paul Palmieri, director of business development at Verizon Wireless. Easy access to information sources such as Wireless Gaming Review will help them identify the games they will enjoy most.
WGamer.com is currently available for download from the getFUN aisle in the getGAMES section of Verizon's Get It Now service. The application's monthly access fee is $2.99. Customers then receive unlimited access to WGamer.com's continuously updated Verizon coverage on the go. The application was created by mobile game developer and publisher Vindigo Studios.
WGamer.com on Verizon is Wireless Gaming Review's second mobile content delivery option. An ongoing arrangement with Sprint PCS allows direct purchase of games via a "Best Rated" link on Sprint's game menu. That application has been integrated into Sprint PCS Vision handsets since May 2003.
