How Do Confrontations Work?

　　In other words, you will not be able to get the desired outcome, and this could lead to unpleasant consequences.

How to Win a Confrontation

　　To enhance your chances of winning, you should focus on improving the Skills and Disciplines of each character. To succeed in the game, you should place at least one point into each. After that, you can choose between creating a balanced character or enhancing only a few Skills and Disciplines.

　　During dialogues and Confrontations, you can use your Focus to temporarily increase a Skill level by one or two points. This will cost you more Willpower than originally needed, but it can earn you a Success with your opponent. Beware that, to be focused, a Skill must have at least one point assigned. In the game's early stages, you will only have a few experience points to improve your character abilities, so you must spend them consciously.

　　Keep in mind that your opponent can also Focus their Skills, but they can only increase their Skill level by one point. If the dialogue ends with a Tie, the winning character will be determined by various factors, including your Suspicion level.

Other Tips and Tricks

　　Hints are scattered throughout the whole game, so you must read them carefully and take notes. Any helpful information can be used against your opponent during Confrontations and can even lead to new lines of dialogue.

　　Moreover, keep in mind that using your Skills or Disciplines does not automatically assure you that one or more Confrontation stages will be won. Sometimes, the right answer can also be a simple one. If you know your opponent, the choice will be easier.
