Valve is now offering beta sign-ups for its In-Home Streaming feature, which the company says will be available for testing later this year.
To register for a chance to take part in the beta test, Steam users must join the official group in the Steam Community.
Steam's In-Home Streaming is designed to allow users to play their Steam library on other machines in their house, connected to the same Internet network.
Valve is also gearing up for the release of its own Linux-based operating system, SteamOS, and a variety of Steam Machines designed to sit in the living room. Valve intends to make it so that some of these machines, running at a lower spec than a user's main gaming PC, will be able to use In-Home Streaming to play the latest games in their living room.
The company's other big push into the operating system comes in the form of its Steam Controller, a unique device that replaces analogue sticks with a pair of digital trackpads.
SteamOS, Steam Machines, and the Steam Controller are all due to be released to the public in 2014.
