More than 175 American gamers will compete for over $75,000 in September for the World Cyber Games US championships. With stakes that high, the event needs an appropriate backdrop. The WCG has announced that gambling mecca Las Vegas will play host to US finals, with winners moving on to represent America in the international finals in Monza, Italy. The competition, which features events in both PC and console gaming, will take place at the Aladdin Hotel, which will soon become Planet Hollywood Las Vegas casino and resort. Admission to watch the event is free, but the WCG is giving out hundreds of VIP passes to those who preregister.
