[Update] According to the first reports, the new Gears of War: Ultimate Edition patch brings some sensible improvements, with the R9 Fury X GPU getting +10-15FPS at 4K High Settings
[Original Story] A couple of days back, we have reported that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC, the recently released new version of the game developed by The Coalition, was going to receive a new patch coming with some fixes and tweaks that should improve the experience. Now we can confirm that the new patch is now available for download.
According to a recent post on the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition forums, the patch doesn't include any additional fixes outside the ones that have been previously revealed.

A new title update will be deployed to the Windows Store for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Windows 10 tomorrow morning PST (3/15/16). This update addresses the following:
Performance optimizations
Refactor of texture settings to better reflect VRAM requirements and to better manage the texture levels for each setting.
Ambient Occlusion tweaks (visual adjustments on our end).
Tuned mouse coming out of roadie run.
Disabled mouse smoothing.
Update Size: 2.3GB
Additionally, it's been confirmed that playlists have been scaled down to help with matchmaking times. From today, the list below will be the currentl playlist setup.

Execution
We plan on rotating our Double XP playlist every Monday at 12pm PST. All modes featured in this slot will have Double XP. The cadence is:
King of the Hill
2v2 Gnasher Execution
Blitz
Assassination
Warzone
While these tweaks should already improve the situation, the team has revealed that they're not yet done with improvements for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. We'll let you know more about future patches for the game as soon as more comes in on the matter so stay tuned for all the latest news.
