[Original] Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has once again taken to Twitter to share an update on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio.

Yesterday, the Xbox executive already shared that he’s happy with how the development on the console is proceeding. In a new set of tweets, Spencer shared his hands-on impressions with an early Scorpio unit. “Great day, Scorpio update w/ team. Played my first games on early Scorpio unit”, he tweeted. “Games played great, console looked right, proud of the team”.

Commenting on a tweet regarding the difference between games running on the standard Xbox One and the Xbox Scorpio, Microsoft’s Xbox head said that bringing up full games this early for the Scorpio’s new hardware, allows the development teams to tune their titles for the best results.

I don't think we've had bring up of full games this early for new hw, gives teams time to tune their games for best results.

Microsoft announced the Xbox Scorpio during its E3 press conference last year and has promised true native 4K gaming without compromises. The exact specifications of the console are unknown, but Microsoft stated that it will sport an eight-core CPU, more than 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth and six teraflops of GPU power.

“Project Scorpio will be the first console with 6 teraflops of power, which will empower the world’s greatest game creators to fully embrace true 4K gaming without sacrificing quality, generate premier VR experiences, without sacrificing performance, and putting greater graphic fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators”, said Spencer upon the Scorpio’s announcement.

The Xbox Scorpio will release later this year. An exact release date is yet to be unveiled.
