[Update] In a new YouTube video, David Jaffe has now claimed that Sony's Head of Internal Production at PlayStation, Connie Booth, has left PlayStation. It should be noted that we haven't been able to verify this 'info'. We've included Jaffe's video below:

　　[Original story] David Scott Jaffe, the creator of God of War and the Twisted Metal series, has said to have heard that "sad" PlayStation news is inbound.

　　The expressive Jaffe took to Twitter some hours ago to share that he's heard of some rather "frustrating", "sad" and "potentially super disrespectful" PlayStation news, which will likely go viral later today. No specific details were shared, but going by the phrasing of Jaffe's tweet, the news is likely related to layoffs happening. Of course, this is merely speculation at this point, but in a follow-up tweet, the director of the original God of War said that the news is more about a "sad state of affairs" at the company. "Sad, frustrating, potentially super disrespectful news dropping tomorrow about Playstation if my sources are correct", Jaffe tweeted some hours ago. "I talk around it in this members only video but in less than 24 hours I'm sure the journalists will get hold of it and tell the tale. It's not a lock but these 2 sources (both work at Playstation) have never once been wrong in sharing what they share."

　　Jaffe added, "If it's true, man...let's just say: no matter what you do, never ever buy the idea that your work is your family and the company is your life. And IF true, I don't have the details as of why but I can imagine, then man, I tell ya: the Sony we all came up with is mostly dead."

　　In his follow-up tweet, Jaffe pointed out that what he's heard is not about acquisitions.

　　"I think I was clear in my posts but to be clear: if the news is verified tomorrow- and I think it should be- this is not DEATH TO PLAYSTATION. It's more of a sad state of affairs and a real fuck you to...well, let's wait. But it's not some earthquake like Sony selling Playstation to Hasbro or some such. If you love Sony games TODAY chances are, MAYBE (depends), not too much will change."

　　I think I was clear in my posts but to be clear: if the news is verified tomorrow- and I think it should be- this is not DEATH TO PLAYSTATION. It's more of a sad state of affairs and a real fuck you to...well, let's wait.

　　It will be interesting to see how this matter evolves. Interestingly, some days ago, job ad spotter 'Timur222' spotted resumes of PlayStation employees, who are now looking for new jobs due to rumored layoffs at PlayStation. Whether this is related to Jaffe's 'news' remains to be seen.

　　"Role ended due to layoffs at PlayStation", a former PlayStation senior-level designer writes on Linkedin.

　　Senior Technical Recruiter at PlayStation, Matt Barney, wrote the following on LinkedIn some days ago: "Goodbye PlayStation / Sony Interactive Entertainment, it's been real! For the past few months, I knew this layoff wave was coming.  I love PlayStation & I always will… I mean, I stayed when I had the chance to leave, so obviously!"

　　We'll keep you updated as soon as more 'info' comes in on this. Of course, take the information above with a pinch of salt for now as Jaffe has been sharing insider information for quite some time, and not all his 'info' proved to to be the real deal. Following this 'leak' from Jaffe, known Bloodborne modder Lance McDonald came in hard at Jaffe, claiming that Jaffe currently doesn't have actual inside sources.
