[Update] Microsoft's executive producer on PUBG for Xbox One, who goes by the name XboxNico on Reddit, has shared some additional info about the upcoming new patch. We've included his reddit post below:
For PUBG on Xbox, there is currently no specific or set day of the week we will release patches. Our goal is to make patches available once Certification has finalized testing, and the team is confident that the overall experience is improved with the patch.
Depending on the types of fixes included in a patch, the process may take less or more time, but our collective goal is to bring meaningful improvements to our players as quickly as possible.
We will strive for transparency in the process (hence this weeks previous update on the state of the patch) even though information may appear to be incomplete or still in formation.
In any event we will have more to share soon, and perhaps as early as later this evening on our client side patch status.

According to the PUBG Xbox One development team, the list of fixes included with the first client-side update of 2018 has been finalized and the update is being prepared to be sent to Microsoft for certification. More details about the upcoming Xbox patch, including contents and release time, will be revealed later on.
The previous Xbox One update was released last week.
PUBG, also known as PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, was released for Xbox One through Microsoft’s Game Preview program last month. The popular shooter is also available on PC through Steam.
The Xbox One release was announced during Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference. “Microsoft’s Game Preview program allows us to get feedback directly from players, something that has been crucial to our success on Steam Early Access,” stated Chang Han Kim, VP and Executive Producer at Bluehole, Inc. “Furthermore, Xbox Live’s solid multiplayer capabilities will enable us to deliver the most complete Battle Royale experience to players worldwide.”
“We’re super excited to welcome PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS to the Xbox One Game Preview Program!” said Chris Charla, Director of ID@Xbox, Microsoft. “Since its launch on PC earlier this year, we’ve been enthusiastic players and it’s been awesome to see its meteoric rise to popularity! We’re eager to collaborate with the team at Bluehole to bring PUBG to the Xbox One community, especially with console launch exclusivity.”
