[Original Story] We have learned quite a bit about Battlefield 1, the new entry of the series developed by DICE launching next month, in the past few days, but very little has been said regarding the game's single player mode. Today, we have managed to learn more about it thanks to the ESRB.

In its rating summary, the ESRB has revealed some of the role players will be seeing in the Battlefield 1 single player campaign, such as fighter pilot, rebel fighter and message runner.

This is a first-person shooter set in various locations during World War I. As players progress through the storyline, they assume the roles of fighter pilot, armor crewman, rebel fighter, and message runner in order to complete missions. Characters use rifles, pistols, machine guns, and grenades to kill enemy soldiers in frenetic, realistic combat. Battles are highlighted by frequent gunfire, cries of pain, and explosions. Some sequences depict enemies wielding flamethrowers; soldiers can be heard screaming while engulfed in flames. Players can also use knives or bayonets to stab enemies in stealth attacks. Splashes of blood can be seen when enemies are hit; one sequence depicts blood and corpses on a beach after a battle. The word “f**k” appears in the dialogue.

The successful Battlefield 1 open beta has allowed fans to check out for themselves how the new game will play, but it also provided additional information regarding features that weren't available in the test version, but will in the final release. A few hours ago, a new video showcasing assets found in the open beta files has surfaced online, and you can check it out right below.

Last week, DICE provided more details regarding Battlefield 1 melee combat, which is somewhat different from what players have seen in previous entries. More details regarding game modes and maps have also emerged online last week, alongside the game's system requirements.

Battlefield 1 launches next month on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in all regions.
