[Update] Capcom confirmed that the two new Resident Evil 7 DLC packs, as well as the Gold Edition, will release on December 12th in North America and Europe.
[Original Story] Back in April, Capcom confirmed that the Resident Evil 7 DLC pack called Not A Hero, required additional development time so that it could match the high quality of the game. A final release date has yet to be confirmed, but it seems like it won't take much longer for players to see Chris Redfield's return to the series.
According to a report circulating online, this week's issue of Famitsu reveals that Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero DLC will release for free on December 14th. Together with the DLC story starring Chris Redfield, another DLC called End of Zoe, taking place after the game's ending, is going to be released in all regions. Additionally, a Gold Edition will release in Japan on December 24th, including all DLC packs
As this week's issue of Famitsu has yet to release or leak online, we have to take everything with a grain of salt. As the magazine usually leaks online a couple of days before its Thursday release, it probably won't take long to know if these rumors are indeed right.
Following the somewhat controversial Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7 is a return to form for the series, placing once again the horror elements at the forefront.
But it’s the house and the Baker family that make Resident Evil 7 so brilliant. It’s been years since we felt terrified of a game, at points unable to continue without a break, and despite it feeling slightly too long, that’s something well worth celebrating. Resident Evil 7 is back, it’s brilliant, and it’s scary. Who’d have thought we’d be saying that a few years ago? Where it goes next is anyone’s business, but Capcom finally seem to be back on track, and we couldn’t be happier.
Resident Evil 7 is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
