[Update] A new Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer has been released, you can check it out below.
[Original Story] Some new details on Pokemon Sword And Shield emerged online today thanks to the latest issue of a popular Japanese magazine.
The cover of the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine, as reported by Serebii, confirmed that some classic Pokemon will be getting Gigantamax versions in Pokemon Sword And Shield. These are Pikachu, Charizard, Eevee, and Meowth.
Last month, it's been confirmed that another classic Pokemon, Farfetch'd, will get an evolution in Pokemon Sword And Shield, Sirfecth'd.
In battle, Sirfetch’d uses the sharp stalk of its leek as a lance and the thick leaves as a shield. It maintains this leek over the span of many years and treasures it more than anything. When its leek finally withers, Sirfetch’d will leave the battlefield and retire from battling entirely.
Meteor Assault is a new move introduced in these games that only Sirfetch’d can learn! Sirfetch’d points its leek at the opponent and charges toward them at great speed. This move is devastatingly powerful! However, it appears that the move also puts great strain on Sirfetch’d. It will be unable to take action immediately after using this move.
Dave recently had the chance to try out Pokemon Sword and Shield. The two games are likely not going to be remembered as the best entries in the series, but they will still provide good fun.
As far as Pokémon demos go, it’s pretty simple and what you would expect from a Pokémon game, not really letting me see anything of the open-world or anything outside of the gym, for that matter. But despite that, I had great fun playing the game, and although it’s certainly possible that Sword & Shield won’t turn out to be the very best Pokémon games ever, I think they’re still going to be a lot of fun.
Pokemon Sword And Shield launch on Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th.
