  Update: Konami has issued the following statement on its Facebook page. It reads as follows:

  "Please be aware, the PS4 Collector's Edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain code for DLC was not included within the physical package during manufacturing. This issue does not affect the Day One Edition product or any other platforms. All customers who purchase the PS4 Collector's Edition through the following retailers will automatically receive the DLC codes at the time of purchase on receipt or via email: Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, EB Games, Game Planet."

  Customers who have pre-ordered the collector's edition or Day One Edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain may be disappointed to find that the packages' download codes are absent. Brought to our attention via Reddit, users have reported that the PlayStation 4 collector's editions of The Phantom Pain are missing the voucher codes, and that Konami will be contacting retailers so that they can send the codes out to customers via email. The Xbox One versions are reportedly unaffected.

  GameSpot has reached out to Konami for comment; stay tuned for updates as they are received.

  The collector's edition codes unlock the following content:

The open-world action stealth game was awarded the rare score of ten out of ten in GameSpot's review, praised for its complex story, captivating world and characters, stealth gameplay, and rich open world.
