[UPDATE] Bioware changed the release window on both YouTube and Twitter to Fall 2018, with the Director of Marketing confirming that typing Spring 2018 was a mistake on their end.
[ORIGINAL STORY] The highly anticipated new IP from Bioware just got a name - Anthem. We covered that much in our previous post, but we just discovered another important tidbit of information - the release window.
EA announced the delay of Anthem during the latest earnings call, revealing that it would launch in fiscal year 2019 - that's between April 1st, 2018 and March 31st, 2019 for Electronic Arts. But the brand new YouTube channel for the game now revealed that we'll get to play the game in Spring 2018, meaning between April and June 2018.
Since clearly this information wasn't meant to be shared yet, the page might be rectified soon. We've taken a screen capture, anyway.
Anthem will allow players to "explore a landscape of primeval beauty, confront the dangers you find, and grow in power with every step". We've known that it would follow in the footsteps of GaaS (Game as a Service) titles like Destiny and The Division for a while; the setting seems to grab elements from Destiny but also popular IPs like Pacific Rim and Attack on Titan.
A lot more is expected to be revealed tomorrow, when Bioware will debut the first gameplay footage during Microsoft's E3 2017 Xbox briefing, presumably running on Scorpio hardware.
Stay tuned on Wccftech for all the latest on Anthem.
