[Update 11/6] Larian's Director of Publishing, Michael Douse, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to, sort of, debunk the recent rumors about the Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Series release date. According to Douse, the rumored release date is "news" to him, and the team will release the Xbox version as soon as they are "happy to release it".
"We’ll know the release date once we’re confident in the release version", he wrote on X. "The plan is still before the end of the year. The key takeaway here should be that we want a really good version that Xbox fans deserve. This means we’ll work on it until we’re happy to release it."

[Original story] The Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Series X|S release date might have leaked ahead of an official announcement from Larian Studios.
Following the game's successful launch on PC and PlayStation 5, Larian recently confirmed that the Xbox Series version is still planned for a release later this year. As covered some days ago, the Xbox port is currently in playtesting stage, and an exact release date is said to be revealed when the team is sure that the Xbox version is done. As now being reported by insider 'eXtas1s' on Exputer, the development team actually has a release date for the game - December 6th, one day before The Game Awards 2023. "That said, this is still an expected release date, and the contacts whom I cross-checked with all confirm that December 6 is what Larian Studios has targeted for now", the insider writes.
For those who don't know 'eXtas1s' - he was spot on with the release date of Forza Motorsport and also shared information about the recently-released Baten Kaitos Remake back in January of this year.
Some months ago, it was revealed that the Xbox Series S version of Baldur's Gate 3 would launch without split-screen support. Microsoft, however, has assured fans that Microsoft and Larian are still actively working to get the feature on the Series S as well.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available worldwide now for PC and PlayStation 5. Here's what we wrote about this masterpiece in our launch review: "When it comes to presentation, Baldur's Gate 3 delivers as much as it does with its gameplay", we wrote. "The game's high production values are evident from every single visual element: character models are extremely detailed, cutscene direction and facial animations are great, giving the adventure a far more cinematic feel than any other cRPGs, and locations are vibrant. Audio production is just as polished, with each dialogue in the game being voice-acted, something very few RPGs as massive as this can boast of."
