[UPDATE – Confirmed For NA / EU] Nioh Final Beta Confirmed For Japan, May Be Launched West-September 2024

[Update] A new post on the Official PlayStation Blog confirmed that the Nioh final beta will also be available in North America and Europe. A new trailer has also been released.

[Original Story] Nioh, the action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja, is now very close to release, but it seems like it will soon be possible to try out the game before release thanks to a new beta, which has been confirmed for Japan.

The final Nioh beta, which will only be available from January 21st to January 22nd, will also allow players to try out the game's multiplayer features without a PlayStation Plus subscription. The beta will also allow players to obtain the awards from the alpha and beta launches last year, as well as a brand new one.

While the Nioh final beta has only been confirmed for Japan as of now, there's a good chance that it will also become available in North America and Europe. A post on the European PlayStation Blog from yesterday included a mention of the final beta, mention that has been removed shortly after the post went live. We will update this post as soon as more comes in on the matter.

Yesterday, director Yosuke Hayashi confirmed in a recent interview that a free player vs. players mode will be released after the Nioh launches. Three major DLC packs will also be made available in the future.

Some new Nioh screenshots surfaced online last week, showcasing one of the game’s stages, Sekigahara, where main character William will take part in the famous battle which ushered in a new era for Japan in 1600. Also showcased are a few characters, two fearsome bosses and much more. Gameplay footage also emerged online last month, showcasing more of the game's brutally challenging experience.

Nioh launches next month in all regions exclusively on PlayStation 4. The game will also come with extensive PlayStation 4 Pro support, allowing players to prioritize resolution or frame rate.
