UK retailer CeX buying PlayStation 4 hardware for £430
UK retailer CeX buying PlayStation 4 hardware for £430-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 2:32 PM

Many shops are saying it will be difficult to get hold of PlayStation 4 hardware in the UK this side of Christmas, and now retailer CeX is currently paying out £430 cash or credit to people trading in their new PlayStation 4.

That's an £81 increase over the RRP of £349.

CeX will sell the consoles in its stores--alongside its famously extensive selection of pawned phones--for an eye-watering £520. For that over the odds price, the retailer is at least stipulating that traded consoles currently require a box.

The PlayStation 4 launches across Europe today, following the machine's release in North America on November 15. Supermarkets were offering first come, first served stock from midnight, although current reports suggest that it's already proving very difficult to find unsold stock for the console.

Sony previously reported that it sold 1 million PlayStation 4's within 24 hours of the machine going on sale in the US and Canada. But will Sony be able to make a similar boast for Europe?
