An interactive Splinter Cell TV show could be in the works, according to a new trademark application from Ubisoft.

　　The trademark application filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) on October 23 covers a range of "continuing television programs and interactive television programs" based on the Splinter Cell franchise.

　　These include TV shows featuring comedy, drama, live-action, and animation, as well as live stage show performances by costumed characters. Lastly, the application covers the production and distribution of Splinter Cell TV shows and motion pictures.

　　A Ubisoft representative was not immediately available to comment.

　　Ubisoft is currently working on a Splinter Cell movie with Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) as Sam Fisher.

　　Though a Splinter Cell TV show has not been announced, fans have created their own YouTube miniseries in the form of Splinter Cell: Extinction and Splinter Cell: Operation Phoenix.

　　The most recent Splinter Cell game was August's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which failed to meet commercial expectations for Ubisoft. Series creator Tom Clancy died earlier this month.
