Ubisoft takes flight-November 2024
Nov 18, 2024 4:28 PM

Ubisoft has today announced that it plans to expand its line of flight simulators through a partnership with 1C Maddox Games. Two previously unannounced games from the IL-2 Sturmovik developer will be among the first to be published by Ubisoft as a result of the deal, with an expansion pack for IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles scheduled for release early next year and The Battle of Britain due in 2005.

"1C Maddox Games has a stellar reputation in the industry for making quality games," said Jay Cohen, vice president of publishing at Ubisoft. "We believe that our partnership with its talented team has made Ubisoft the world's premier publisher of historical flight sims, and we can't wait to bring these two new games to fans everywhere."

“Ubisoft shares the passion we feel for flight sims and they believe in our goal to constantly work at improving the gaming experience for sim fans,” said Oleg Maddox. “The Battle of Britain will be our most ambitious work to date, and we are looking forward to the challenge.”

Information on the expansion pack for IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles is scarce at present, but Ubisoft has announced that The Battle of Britain will feature a dynamic campaign system and realistic weather effects, and it will allow players to fly for the British, German, or Italian air forces. We'll bring you more information on both of the games announced today as soon as it becomes available.
