Ubisoft has canceled its plans to attend E3 2023 and will now host its own separate live event instead. This news comes after the publisher previously announced it would attend the show.
As reported by VGC, a Ubisoft spokesperson said, "While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon."

Now Playing: Ubisoft Forward September 2022 Livestream
At the time of writing, Ubisoft has not yet publicly shared any further plans for its summer showcase.
E3 2023 marks the in-person return of the iconic trade show after four years. It will take place from June 13 to June 16, and is now run by ReedPop, the company in charge of PAX and Star Wars Celebration. However, it's still unclear which publishers will attend the show.
Previously, Ubisoft was one of the larger game publishers planning to attend E3 2023, but now, it's still unclear which major companies will make an appearance. Nintendo and Microsoft both confirmed they will not participate in E3 this year, while Sony is reportedly skipping the event as well.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, other companies, such as Sony, Electronic Arts, and Microsoft, slowly started skipping E3, in favor of their own events. It seems Ubisoft will follow suit, with a live version of its Forward event, which was first introduced in 2020.
Ubisoft has multiple games in development including Assassin's Creed Mirage, Skull and Bones, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
