Following the release of Assassin's Creed Unity on Tuesday, Ubisoft has now spoken out to address the issues some players are experiencing on the PC version of the open-world action game. In a statement posted to the Ubisoft forums (via IGN), the publisher explained that the issue--which it says it not very widespread--stems from a problem with certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations.
"We are aware that the graphics performance of Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC may be adversely affected by certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations," Ubisoft wrote. "This should not affect the vast majority of PC players, but rest assured that AMD and Ubisoft are continuing to work together closely to resolve the issue, and will provide more information as soon as it is available."
Steam users have reported a variety of problems with the PC version of Unity, including poor frame rates, freezing, crashes, and audio troubles.
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are also facing some issues. According to a performance analysis conducted by Digital Foundry, both console versions of the game struggle to maintain a solid frame rate, though the Xbox One iteration was able to better hold 30fps, per the report.
