Twentieth Century Fox teams with Mobile Scope-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 1:25 PM

Twentieth Century Fox and mobile game developer Mobile Scope intend to breathe new life into two movie franchises. The studio behind the films Ice Age and Die Hard has agreed to a deal that grants licenses for the properties to the German mobile game studio. The terms grant Mobile Scope permission to develop, publish, and distribute mobile games based on the two franchises and extends Mobile Scope's current Ice Age license permissions.

With Fox’s seemingly endless catalog of properties perfect for the wireless space, we are excited to begin work with Mobile Scope to this end,” said Twentieth Century Fox's vice president of wireless entertainment, Jim Beddows.

Founded in 2001, Mobile Scope has a history of developing and publishing games for a variety of wireless devices from its headquarters in Meerbusch, Germany. Titles in the Mobile Scope library include the popular Moorhen series and the M-Sports series featuring soccer, ice hockey, and ski-jumping games.

"We are pleased to extend our current publishing relationship with Twentieth Century Fox to a worldwide scale," said Mobile Scope CEO Juergen Goeldner

With the new licenses, Mobile Scope plans to release a series of games later this summer. Game development will target devices that support three major mobile platforms: Sun's J2ME, Symbian, and Qualcomm's BREW architecture.
