Total War: Warhammer DLC out Now; Sequel Currently Being Worked on-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 10:49 PM

Creative Assembly has now released a huge update for Total War: Warhammer, announcing a sequel as well

The Old World Edition includes the original game and the Bretonnia Race Pack which adds in new lords like King Louen Leoncoeur, Alberic of Bordeleaux and the Fay Enchantress, units and game features.

Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director over at Creative Assembly explains in a press release why it was important for them to roll out such a big update for free:

We’re rounding off part one with a bang, not a wimple, and it’s a big thank-you to our players.  The strength of our DLC sales means we can put more into our free content releases. Not only that, we can have faith in upping our content plans for the next two games.

Bartholomew also talks the trilogy and what the team is currently working on. It was reported that each game can be played as stand-alone titles and will also bolt-on to the original game in order to expand the map and roster size:

We want to make the most incredible fantasy trilogy possible. And with Bretonnia, we’re bringing our time in the Old World to a close. Production on the sequel to TW: Warhammer has been underway for some time already and is now a key focus for the studio. It’s time to travel to new lands and discover new races.”

Meanwhile, our historical team are also working on a major triple-A title in an era we’ve not visited yet. Over 1.2 million people play Total War every month, with the majority playing our previous games. We haven’t forgotten that.

Total War: Warhammer is out now on PC. The Bretonnia Race Pack and The Old World DLC is also available now, adding a ton of new features to the base game. No time table was given for when we should see any more news about the upcoming sequel.
