Last week, NPD Intelect acquired PC Data, the sales tracking service that provides weekly sales charts for software products. Although the latest charts have a new brand name, the top games are the same as they have been for months--The Sims took first place, and The Sims: Livin' Large took second place. This virtual life game from Electronic Arts and its expansion pack have had a strong hold on the top two spots since before New Year's. With the release of the second expansion pack, The Sims: House Party, scheduled for the end of March, it looks like EA might have a hat trick on its hands. However, there is one big game on the way that might challenge The Sims for the top slot, Lionhead's Black & White. This innovative game is scheduled for release on the same day as House Party, and it will be interesting to see how sales of the two match up.

　　The third game on the list of top-selling games is also a familiar sight. Infogrames' theme park management game Roller Coaster Tycoon has been almost continuously on the top ten list since its release at the end of March 1999. Fourth place for the month of February went to Hoyle Casino 2001, and Blizzard's action-RPG Diablo II rose to fifth place from sixth place in January.
