In August, MTV.com revealed a list of songs that would be featured in Activision's Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. The tracks were all current bands paying homage to those who came before them by covering songs from venerable thrashers such as Minor Threat, The Buzzcocks, and The Stooges.

　　In addition to the 14 punk anthems previously mentioned (which will be released on CD by Vagrant Records October 18), many more tracks, from genres spanning rock to hip-hop, will also be featured in the game.

　　Don't expect any slow-dancing power ballads, as most of these songs were made for some serious thrashing. Public Enemy discusses the roles of race in film with "Burn Hollywood Burn," Pixies frontman Frank Black sings about the trials of Southern California in "Los Angeles," and the Molemen (featuring Slug and MF Doom) give an ode to old-school arcade games in "Put Your Quarter Up." 　　Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is scheduled for release on October 18 on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. Activision also declared intent to make the game a launch title for the Xbox 360.

　　Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is rated T for Teen and will sell for $49.99 on the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube. Pricing for the Xbox 360 version is still pending.
